It’s unusual when you can find more than just two or three Formula Atlantic race cars in one place together, unless you find yourself at an SCCA weekend. Fortunately, one of Evolve Lubricants, Inc.’s trusted ECORSA Motorsports non-petroleum racing oil dealers, Swan Motorsports, is not your ordinary facility.

Walking to Mirl Swan’s Swan Motorsports race shop is like something out of a Formula Atlantic dream. The most stunning part of the facility lines the left side of the room – 13 Formula Atlantic cars, all in different stages of development, setup, and restoration, built throughout the 80s and 90s. Mirl, a 3-time Formula Atlantic racing champion, works on all of the cars, with the exposed parts of various chassis showing the finished pieces, jewels of mechanical design and finish after being restored or upgraded by Swan. Mirl’s personal car, a menacing all-black Atlantic car made specifically for Pikes Peak, utilizes a special turboed Toyota 4AGE that produces “an adequate amount of power” according to Swan.

The floors are bright white, a brave thing to have inside as a working motorsport facility but are surprisingly spotless everywhere. Each part and tool have their place, and if you’re used to shops that feel overcrowded, then you’ll feel at ease with all the elbow room that the Swan facility has to offer. The clean room, separated from the rest of the shop, houses some gearboxes which are built in house.

Evolve Lubricants, Inc. and Mirl Swan’s has grown over the past few years, originally by both working with Paul Hasselgren, owner of Hasselgren Engineering and 10-time Toyota engine builder of the year for the Formula Atlantic 4AGE engines.

Evolve Lubricants began providing the world’s best lubricants for Hasselgren Engineering, and Mirl used Hasselgren Engineering for engine building services. Over the years Mirl Swan and Swan Motorsports, along with Hasselgren Engineering, saw the real-world results of the development work and new technologies that Evolve Lubricants had to offer. ECORSA Motorsport non-petroleum racing motor oil, the latest technology for the racing world, offers next-generation performance and protection for racers looking for an extra edge.
